Mile 108 Campsite

Overview

Mile 108 is the most northerly of the salt-road angling camps, set on the gravel plains of the Dorob National Park roughly 108 miles north of Swakopmund and well beyond the last village. Unlike the simpler coastal sites it offers a range of options: two-bed Fisherman Chalets charged per unit, self-contained campsites with their own water and power points, standard pitches, and premium stands with a private ablution block for families or groups of four and up. The draw is the fishing — long, empty beaches with almost no one on them — plus the run north to the Ugab gate and the Skeleton Coast, and south to Cape Cross and Henties Bay. Facilities include a small shop and fuel in season. There is no restaurant, the fog rolls in most mornings, and the nearest supermarket is at Henties Bay, so arrive stocked. Rates hold flat all year.
