The stay
Ai-Ais Hotsprings & Spa is located at the south-eastern end of the Fish River Canyon, within the Namibian part of the /Ai-/Ais Richtersveld Transfrontier Park. The resort derives its name from the natural hot springs found here; in the Nama language, "/Ai-/Ais" means "burning hot," describing the warmth of the springs. The natural phenomenon of the thermal spring forms the heart of the resort and is central to the spa area, which features both indoor and outdoor pools for guests. The warm, sulphur-rich water of these springs has soothing effects on muscles and joints. A range of wellness treatments, including massages, adds to the relaxation experience. The resort is surrounded by rugged mountains, vast valleys, and the dry riverbed of the Fish River, creating an impressive desert landscape. This location also marks the end point for the Fish River Canyon Hiking Trail.
