Overview
Simbavati Trails Camp is a small, back-to-basics walking camp of four canvas tents set in a remote corner of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. There is no electricity in the tents — lanterns, bucket showers and paraffin lamps set the tone — and the focus is entirely on tracking wildlife on foot with an armed trails guide, morning and afternoon, with time in camp around the plunge pool and firepit in between. Meals are cooked over the coals and served in the mess tent or under the stars. Rates are fully inclusive of all meals, beverages (excluding premium brands and cellar wines) and the compulsory scheduled transfer, which departs Simbavati River Lodge at 13:45. The camp is adults-only from 16 years and closes over the wet summer months.
