Zambezi Mubala Lodge

Zambezi Mubala Lodge is a riverfront retreat along the Zambezi River, 40 kilometres east of Katima Mulilo in Namibia. The name ‘Mubala’ translates to 'colour' in Silozi. The lodge's interiors are decorated with blue and green hues, reflecting the surrounding river and vegetation. The lodge combines modern luxury with natural beauty, providing an escape into a tropical setting.

The lodge features 21 bungalows. Facilities include a restaurant and bar, a swimming pool, and a curio shop. Guests access complimentary WiFi in the reception area. The property maintains 24-hour security and offers mobile connectivity. Secure parking is available at the adjacent Zambezi Mubala Camp.

Refreshments and light snacks are included on these boat trips. Guided fishing trips target species like catfish, tilapia, nembwe, and tigerfish, with boats, basic tackle, and bait provided. Fishing is conducted on a catch-and-release basis. The lodge also offers seasonal guided walks to bird colonies, including Carmine Bee-eater colonies, which are bookable directly at reception. The lodge accepts Visa and Mastercard and provides a laundry service. Check-in is at 14:00, with check-out at 10:00. Early check-in or late check-out is available upon enquiry.

Access to the lodge requires guests to park their vehicle at Zambezi Mubala Camp, from where they are ferried across to the lodge.

The lodge is renowned for birdwatching, hosting one of the largest colonies of Carmine Bee-eaters in Southern Africa.

Transfers are available to and from Mpacha Airport in Katima Mulilo, which is 50km away. Transfers between three Gondwana properties in the Zambezi region (Namushasha River Lodge, Zambezi Mubala Lodge, Chobe River Camp) are also offered. A scheduled Go2 Tourism Shuttle departs from Zambezi Mubala Camp to Victoria Falls main parking area, via Chobe River Camp.
