The stay
&Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge is set within a 12,715-hectare protected desert reserve, bordering the NamibRand Nature Reserve and the Namib-Naukluft National Park. This forms part of the Namib Sand Sea, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s oldest desert. The lodge is built from stone, glass, and light, designed to blend into its surroundings. Guest areas are integrated into the landscape with fold-away glass doors. The lodge features a wellness space that captures both sunrise and sunset. This destination offers opportunities for self-guided exploration, characterised by stillness and silence. A hybrid solar plant powers the lodge's air conditioning, hot water system, greywater recycling system, and rainwater harvesting tanks. Recycled water is used for outdoor rain showers and indigenous desert gardens. An on-site purified water bottling plant eliminates plastic water bottles.
