Shipwreck Lodge

Shipwreck Lodge offers a rare opportunity for a stay on the wild Skeleton Coast of Namibia. The lodge is positioned in a remote corner of the country, surrounded by shifting dunes and Atlantic fog. This provides a base from which to explore a coastline shaped by nature, time, and legend. The lodge’s architecture takes inspiration from the shipwrecks found along the coast, with cabin-style structures resembling stranded vessels. These structures blend into the surrounding dunes and rugged landscape. Shipwreck Lodge is the first and only permanent lodge within the Skeleton Coast National Park.

Accommodation at Shipwreck Lodge comprises 10 wooden cabins. These cabins are strung along a sand dune, facing the distant Atlantic Ocean. The design of the cabins creates the impression of structures that have been shipwrecked. The interior of each cabin features elements such as ropes, wood, and porthole windows. Each cabin is equipped with a wood-burning fireplace.

The lodge offers meals with an emphasis on the setting. Dining experiences include a beach lunch, served directly on the picturesque shores of the Atlantic Ocean. This allows guests to savour a meal surrounded by the untamed beauty of the Skeleton Coast. For dinner, guests receive two to three options, which sometimes include freshly caught fish. Afternoon tea is also served and includes items such as chocolate cake. A bar is available at the lodge.
