The stay
Palmwag Campsite is located in the Palmwag Concession, an area in Namibia's north-western corner, nestled between Kaokoland and the Skeleton Coast. The setting features swaying makalani palms and robust mopane trees, sustained by underground water. The campsite provides a base for exploring the Damaraland landscape, which is characterised by green euphorbias and ancient mountains. Palmwag operates in collaboration with neighbouring conservancies, the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, and Save the Rhino Trust, focusing on safeguarding the region’s diverse wildlife. Guests can engage in guided activities such as nature drives, guided hikes, rhino tracking on foot, and an overnight under-canvas sleep-out experience. The property has two cold water swimming pools and an outdoor bar. Mobile connectivity and Wi-Fi are available. Check-in is from 14:00, with early check-in subject to availability, and check-out is by 10:00, with late check-out available upon request.
