Namib Dune Star Camp

Namib Dune Star Camp is situated on the crest of ancient sand dunes, overlooking the Namib Desert landscape. The camp offers an intimate experience with nine cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom, a large bedroom, and a spacious deck. The design and construction of the camp take careful consideration to leave a minimum footprint, operating as an eco-friendly retreat. It is solar-powered and water is used mindfully. Guests are asked to bring a small overnight bag as larger luggage is stored at Namib Desert Lodge due to vehicle weight and space constraints during transfer. The camp offers a one-night itinerary focused on a sunset, stargazing night, and sunrise walk experience. Guests check in at Namib Desert Lodge and are then transferred to the camp via a mandatory scheduled 4x4 transfer. Sunset and sunrise walks exploring the surrounding dunes are available, guided by an experienced guide who shares information about the desert's flora and fauna.

The camp comprises nine cabins, positioned with a fair distance between them. Each cabin provides an en-suite bathroom and a private veranda. The rooms feature a double bed specifically designed to be wheeled out onto the large private wooden deck, allowing guests to sleep under the Namibian night sky. Extra bedding is supplied for cooler nights. The interior of the cabins is minimalistic, featuring beige, grey, and brown colours that blend with the surrounding desert environment. Each bungalow is situated in a prime position on the sand dunes. There are seven double rooms, and two triple rooms, though only the double beds can be wheeled out onto the balcony.

At the end of the day, guests can gather on the wide central deck to enjoy the scenery. Sundowner drinks are available as the sun sets. Dinner is served under the starlit sky. The camp features a restaurant and a bar.

Namib Dune Star Camp is located 60 km north of Sesriem on C19, within the Karas Region of Namibia, in the Sossusvlei area. It is situated inside the Namib-Naukluft Park, a national park near the Naukluft mountain range. The Namib Desert, where the camp resides, is known as the oldest desert in the world. The famous Sossusvlei is located about a 90-minute drive from the camp. The camp is accessible from its sister property, Namib Desert Lodge, which is approximately a 20-minute drive away. The setting provides clear air, wide open space, and exceptional views of the desert wilderness.
