Kalahari Farmhouse

Kalahari Farmhouse provides a tranquil stay in the Kalahari, set within a green oasis of trees and grass. The property follows a farm-to-fork ethos, sourcing much of its produce from its own Self Sufficiency Centre, fed by a natural artesian basin on site. The lodge offers a homely atmosphere, blending historical charm with comfort. The old farmhouse, once belonging to a former administrator of South West Africa, now contains the dining and bar areas, featuring vintage decor such as distressed frames, old telephones, and antique bread boxes. Seasonal changes are evident, with red leaves adorning creepers in June and fires creating a warm ambience in the bar and dining areas during colder months. The lodge closes from January to March each year for staff training. Accommodation consists of individual structures built in a Cape Dutch style. These houses use local limestone rocks, contributing to an authentic aesthetic. Breakfast is served as a buffet, featuring fresh fruit, pastries, and croissants, with a view of the garden through floor-to-ceiling windows. Dinner consists of a set menu, offering farm-style dishes with a sophisticated touch, such as vegetable soup, springbok fillet in wine sauce, and toffee apple pudding. The bar area provides a cosy setting, particularly in winter when fires are lit.

Kalahari Farmhouse is located near Stampriet in the Kalahari region of Namibia.
