Overview

Fossil Hills Tango Guest House is situated on Thornvilla Farm, in the Breede Valley between Robertson and McGregor. This working wine farm forms part of the McGregor Winery. Grapes, plums, apricots, and various vegetables are harvested each year. The name 'Fossil Hills' comes from the fossils that were and are still found on the farm, dating back to the fish age of 355 million years ago. The guest house comprises five bedrooms, accommodating ten guests. The main house includes two bedrooms and one bathroom. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed and the second bedroom with two single beds. Both rooms share a bathroom fitted with a shower. The annexe comprises three bedrooms and one bathroom. Each of these three bedrooms is furnished with two single beds, and they share a bathroom fitted with a shower. The living space features a dining and lounge area with a fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and tea-and-coffee-making facilities. Guests can enjoy the braai facilities and relax in the wood-fired hot tub, with wood provided. The area offers many outdoor activities such as exploring fruit orchards, olive groves, and vineyards, as well as walking and hiking trails, mountain biking, 4x4 trails, and bird watching in Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve. The hosts offer wine walks, and guests are welcome to enquire for more information. Guests can also enjoy the pottery studio, art galleries, and cob house building, or enjoy a meal at the local coffee shops, restaurants, or pubs.
