The stay
Swartfontein Game & Adventure Lodge is within the Namib Spreethoogte Private Nature Reserve, an 8000-hectare private reserve established in 1999. The lodge preserves the fragile ecosystem of the pro-Namib area. Guests are welcomed into an old farmhouse environment, originally built by a German soldier at the beginning of this century. The guesthouse offers a warm, inviting atmosphere alongside the serenity and solitude of expansive landscapes. Electricity and hot water are available 24 hours a day, powered by solar panels. Wi-Fi is available at the lodge.
The lodge provides entertainment possibilities to its guests. These include game drives to observe endemic and exotic game species. Sunset drives offer views of the Namib desert while enjoying a sundowner drink. Self-guided walking tours allow visitors to explore the area at their own pace. Birding is an activity, with over 150 different species of birds observed and listed by an expert bird watcher. The lodge also offers opportunities for 4x4 adventures and mountain biking. Day trips to Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon are arranged with prior notice. Olaf and Inka Brell welcome their guests, as do Silvia and Roberto Scarafia.
